WE CARE

Axiom is a place of peace and a safe haven to the weary.

As a Jesus centered community we strive to practice the ways of Jesus by being generous and obeying his commands to love the poor and marginalized and those in need however we can. Our first priority is connecting you with Jesus. This work begins first in our downtown Peoria neighborhood as we pray for eyes to see and the ability to be present to the neighborhood and aware of spiritual and material needs. If you notice a need or a way to love our neighbor please reach out. We believe giving care happens best in relationship.

AXIOM COMMUNITY & SERVING: Being together in community regularly and serving one another is a necessary step in discipleship to Jesus. Serving in the local church helps us to embody Jesus’ command to love one another and it creates space for people to experience Jesus. As you lead people point them to connect by serving the local body. 

PRAYER: We encourage you to never miss an opportunity to pray with one another. However there are seasons and moments when inviting a person to be cared for by the prayer team are pivotal. When you reach out to the prayer team you are opening the door for someone to reach out, meet with them be ministered to. There is no crises or celebration too big or small for our prayer team to respond.  Hospital visits, home visits, phone calls and Sunday meeting times are all available through our prayer team) Fill out form above to receive prayer.

PASTORAL CARE: While we want to first empower you to minister to those you serve there are times when leaning on our pastoral team is needed. Perhaps there has been a significant life event or questions about life with God and community. Maybe someone wants to get married or baptized, funeral services, whatever the reason if you discern that one of our pastors can serve you and those you lead we are available. 

SPIRITUAL DIRECTION:  Spiritual Direction offers you an ally in your relationship with God. Whether you simply desire to grow in your experience of God, are seeking discernment or perhaps your relationship with God is beginning to feel bankrupt, Spiritual Directors intend to encourage you into greater awareness of the presence and voice of God in your life. For some having a Spiritual Director is irreplaceable and for others it is meant to be only for a season. Our desire is simply that you know Spiritual Direction is available to you in confidentiality and without charge. Our growing network of Directors are Christ centered and largely lean into practices of prayer while seeking to direct your attention not your steps while observing alongside you what God is doing. Confession of Sin

Apostles’ Creed 

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. 

Psalm 23 

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his Name’s sake. Prayer to the Crucified Christ
