A Shared Rule of Life
A rule of life is a set of practices and relational rhythms that help us create space in our busy world to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did—live life to the full in His kingdom. While the word “rule” may strike you as strict or binding, the Latin word we translate as “rule” was originally the word for a trellis in a vineyard. Rather than a rigid, legalistic to-do list, it’s a life-giving support structure for freedom, growth, and joy. We invite you to begin experiencing the richness of these life-transforming practices as you explore community with Axiom.
Rest: to be without lack or work through observing a Sabbath
Presence: to be in companionship with God and others without distraction
Eating: to fellowship at the table without showing favoritism
Prayer: to listen to and speak with God daily
Scripture: to ground yourself in God’s Word by submitting regularly to proclamation and reading
Worship: to share in awe, wonder, and adoration of God through weekly worship gatherings
Service: to be with all people in selfless love through intentional acts of service
Giving: to be generous with yourself and your treasures by regularly giving
