DISCOVER AXIOM

AS WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER IN THE WAY THAT JESUS LOVES US IT WILL BE SELF-EVIDENT (AXIOM) THAT WE ARE JESUS’ DISCIPLES.

VISION & MISSION

Our vision is Jesus’ vision:

“May your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” – Matthew 9:10

Our mission is Jesus’ mission:

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” -Matt 28:19-20

THEOLOGY

We confess to putting our faith, trust, and hope in: The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus as fully God and man. Jesus' good news that the Kingdom of God is available to all who desire it. The Kingdom of God, where transforming relationship with Father, Son, and Spirit is lived out on Earth as it is in Heaven. Our relationship with God through which we are increasingly free from the power of sin as we are renewed to desire the loving will of God until Christ returns. We are Christians rooted in the Anabaptist tradition that seeks to make Christ command to love our enemies a central part of our identity as Christians.

STORY & VALUES

Axiom’s story began back in 2013, as a group of traveling artists desiring to center our lives around Jesus. We had a heart for the unlikely (those you wouldn’t likely see in the church). We recognized that the church often struggled to love people that weren’t like them; but, we desired to change that narrative by practicing rhythms of formation, mission and celebration. We use the word “pioneer” to summarize this work. Why? Because Jesus is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2), leading us into inward spaces, through formations; outward spaces, through mission; and inclusive spaces through celebration. We regularly remind our church of these values by saying: Experience Jesus, Love Peoria, Be Together.
